Lots going on!

Well, I say a lot but it is not THAT much lol. My mom is home from the hospital and actually goes in to get her staples out next Monday (all 120 of them!). She is doing much better, still easing into the food thing slowly but all in all I think she is feeling much better! We are so glad she is home and feeling better!
On our home front I have sad news to report, the last Sunday mom was in the hospital I stayed with her, Bradley and Anderson came to pick me up and while we were gone someone opened up our back gate and either took our Roxie girl or she got out trying to protect the house. We have searched and searched and with no luck at all =( we hope to find her but it has been well over a week and our hopes are down. I miss her so much and pray she is safe wherever she is. As for Anderson he is growing in leaps and bounds! he is so smart and funny and boy does he have a personality! He has learned to say trick or treat and we are anxiously awaiting Halloween! I bought us tickets to Zoo Boo for this Saturday and cannot wait to see his reaction to it! I have been before with a friend and her son, but this will be Bradley and Anderson's first trip. I have no new pictures to post right this second but I will have plenty from this weekend and Monday night to post sometime next weekend! That is really all the big news right now!
Bradley's bodybuilding season is over (to the relief of this mommy!) and he did so good!!! He competed in Tunica's Battle on the Bluff and got 4th, then he competed in the Dexter Jackson Memphis Classic and got 3rd!!! He was so excited to meet Dexter Jackson, and I must say he is quite a large man! That is really all the updates I have for right now! Thanks for checking in and I will post pictures soon I promise!!!

Day 1

Today is Day 1 of mom's recovery, she is in her room at Methodist North and is doing as well as expected. She is in quite a bit of pain, but hopefully we can get that under control soon. Yesterday went by really fast for me, I'm sure it drug on for mom. She was only in surgery an hour and a half and to our great pleasure, the surgery was not as extensive as once thought it needed to be. Her surgeon, Dr. Payne (i know, what a name right?!) called us and told us he was almost giddy at how well things went. Mom should have a pain free life from here on out and be able to eat pretty much whatever she wants (google and crohn's diet and see how much fun it sounds). I hate that I can't be with her at the hospital, but Daddy is there to make sure she is well taken care of. I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, she is out of the woods, but still in so much pain, so keep them coming!

Uncharted Territory

Tomorrow is the day, my mom has her major surgery that will put her on the road to recovery and a normal life with no pain once again. I just wish the surgery was not so major, she will be out of work for close to 2 months while she heals. My mom has always taken care of us and none of us are used to her being down for this long. She checks in tomorrow morning at Methodist North at 7 am. If all goes to plan she will go back for her surgery at 8:30. Per her surgeon, she will be in surgery close to 3 hours. I'm asking for thoughts, prayers, pretty much anything you are willing to give at this moment. She is so brave and ready for this to be behind her and we are just ready for her to feel better and get that chicken tender salad from Court Square Cafe she has wanted for months! (if you know anything about Crohn's disease, salad is a NO NO!) So now our roles switch, we will be there to take care of mom and make sure she is comfortable and get her back to feeling good again! I plan on taking Anderson to see her tonight since it will be a while before she can hold him again, and then tomorrow starts the journey to recovery! So again, please if you have a quick second tomorrow say a prayer for her! Thanks for checking in! We love you all!

Have I mentioned I LOVE fall!

The weather, the leaves, the atmosphere....Fall has arrived and it puts me in such a great mood! I wish i could say the same for my husband and child! this time of year brings on allergies and ear infections...BUT so far we have made it through Pediatrician/Doctor appointment free! There isn't much to report, life is moving along as always, Anderson is growing like a weed and proving to be such a smart little boy! He talks up a storm and is starting to piece together sentences. He will look at our Scottish terrier and say "Stop it puppy" or he will look at his cup on the counter and say cup please (tup pees). There are a lot more phrases and I am a proud mommy! Other than Anderson being his adorable self we have a big event coming up next week, my mom is having bowel resection surgery next Tuesday and all prayers and thoughts are welcome! She has been struggling with Crohn's disease for years and it has taken its toll on her body. The good news is with this major surgery comes healing and her being able to enjoy things she hasn't been able to in a long time! We are all ready for her to feel better and celebrate the holidays! Bradley is still doing his bodybuilding and has one last competition of the year in about 2 weeks (thank goodness). He is training hard and getting excited! I so proud of him, he has more discipline than I ever could have...I love food way to much to start practicing portion control =) Anyways that's about it for now, please keep my mom in your prayers as she recovers from surgery and as always thank for checking in on us! God Bless!
